Is there a way out? Can we make our passion our profession?

She made her little contribution...Have you?

So often, we are faced with situations in life where our contribution to change things around us seem just so little, so tiny that it seems like a waste of effort. Again, it is about how we look at it. A different perspective can change things around, and give us the motivation, desire and the energy to continue to seek change.

4 Things you may be missing to plan in your lives, at your own peril

We recently had a wonderful and interactive workshop on Financial Freedom last Sunday (12th Jan 2014). This was organised by Sartrac Global in Faridabad (NCR). During my interaction with the audience, i realised that most of us tend to miss out on these 4 vital things in our lives..and of course, we do so at our own peril.... Just if someone could point us towards these things, life can take a completely different dimension...Read on...

Lets meet a Freedom Seeker : Mr. Sailesh Damani

Well, it has been almost 6 months since so many of the financial freedom seekers have connected with me one-one over telephone and email, and shared their life's situations, dreams and also their financial portfolios. I have tried to mentor them to build a financial freedom plan of their life. This monthly track-able plan, once executed, has the potential to bring them out of the rat race and allow them to chase the true dreams of their lives. This plan can make them experience "freedom" in life.

I thought it would be a great idea if you could meet a few freedom seekers - to know who they are, what their dreams and goals are, why they are chasing financial freedom, and above all, how has been their experience since they have set themselves on this journey to financial freedom. So, here we go, lets meet with the first such freedom seeker : Mr. Sailesh Damani.

Mission of Life

The two most important days in your life are the day you are born, and the day you find out why.... said Mark Twain.
While all of us precisely know about one of these two important days, it is very rare for most of us to have established the second day of our lives.

I Dare to Dream

John F Kennedy once said: "We need men who can dream of things that never were."

I dared to dream.

- When everyone laughed at me being overweight as a teenager, i dared to dream to be the fittest around.

- When my school teachers and classmates made fun of me for failing in Class 9, i dared to dream to be a Gold medalist at my Engineering University.

Source or Sink

There is a hero in each one of us !!

The fact is that most of us are looking for some heroes in life, someone whom we can follow, someone whom we admire, someone whom we know is making a difference out there in the world "in spite" of all the challenges and is not sitting down and out "because of" all the reasons, someone who can show us the direction.

Are we really prepared to live our life?

Life is a beautiful journey. Yes, it indeed is.

William Purkey had once said:
“You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching,
Love like you'll never be hurt,
Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like it's heaven on earth.”

Sometimes, i do get surprised to see how (un)prepared we are in our life to undertake this beautiful journey.

Healthy Breakfast for your mind.

What do you feed your body for the morning breakfast? However fond you may be of junk food, morning is a time when everyone prefers to have something relatively healthy. This is what our body craves for. Surely, a good start to the day is half the battle won.

While you took care of your body by giving it a healthy diet in the morning, did you take enough care of your mind in the morning? We know that the food that we intake has an impact on our overall physical health. Similarly, all the information that goes inside your mind through each of your sense organs has an impact on the quality of thoughts that it creates.

Quick decision making

Decisions must be taken after giving enough thought to them. While that is true for most decisions, it has also been observed that most of the landmark decisions are instant, taken with gut feel, involves emotions and mostly lack the "thinking time" that is normally advisable to be associated with any decision making process.

Let me tell you a small story to exemplify what i am trying to say.

Implement the change that you want to see

Yes, we must listen, read, see, visualize, learn, understand and also appreciate the things the way they ought to be, but we must also remember that for any change to happen, you must take a very important next step and that is "to act" towards the change that you want to see in the world around you.

Very often, we spend a lot of time in all the aspects of reading, listening, visualizing, understanding but just halt at the step of "acting". While all of these is important, failure to act turns out to be the single biggest reasons why your ideas and thoughts do not take the shape of reality.

The Power of Simplicity

"Simple" has immense power.

Doesn't the above quote look too simple? Yes, it is. But why do we need to complicate it if it conveys the message that we want to convey. Most of us, in life, either ignore or undermine the power that simple things can bring. We either believe that such simple things cannot bring success, else everyone would have achieved it or we get satisfaction out of complicating things for ourselves.

Lets create our own inspiring story

GOD made you and me with the same dedication, commitment, focus and HOPE as HE did for someone like Sir Edmund Hillary. This is also true for each and everyone around us. When HE created us, he did not create any difference, in terms of giving us the "freedom" to mold our own lives, live the life that we want to live, define our own path and to go and achieve our own goals and dreams.

We do trust GOD on this impartial commitment. Isn't it? Then, why is it that some of us are able to carve our names in the history books while some keep struggling for most part of their lives.

Life is a journey towards a destination

Nothing can be more true than the age old saying: "Life is a journey and not a destination". This saying is so relevant because if you have not enjoyed your journey of life, you are in for a hollow sense of achievement after you reach your destination. You will spend a major part of your life in the journey towards some of your goals and a minute fractional little in savoring the destination. Hence, it makes so much more sense to lay emphasis on the journey rather than the destination.

Well, if that is the fact, then why are we so hung up about
